Cabinetry
Replacing cabinets isn’t just about giving your kitchen or bath a makeover. It’s the best opportunity to redesign these spaces. Fix the mistakes made by the builder in regards to lay out or change the foot print of a room. At the very least customize your storage space so that kitchen or bath fits your needs.
Many factors affect your overall price of cabinetry: manufacturer or quality of construction, cabinet box and door material, door style and finish, storage options and accessories, number of cabinets needed, hieght of the wall or uper cabnets and most importantly the type of cabinetry you buy.
Cabinet's are available in three basic types:
Stock or Production Cabinetry
Stock cabinets have an entry-level price point and are usually available immediately or within a few days, often in local lumber yards or the big box chain stores. Generally construction grade there perfect for new homes and investment properties. These cabinets suffer primarily from a limited number of sizes, styles, finishes, accessories, and hardware. Stock cabinets are usually made-up of lower grade materials hidden by a durable finish.
Semi-Custom Cabinetry
Semi-custom cabinets offer the best of both worlds. Offering high quality materials and a lot more features than stock cabinetry. All with shorter lead time and a better price point than custom built cabinetry. Since construction begins once the order is finalized, the cabinets are somewhat built to suit with a wide selection of doors and finishes. The downside is that quality standards range significantly from manufacture to manufacture.
Custom or Shop Built Cabinetry
You will find these locally built all over the country, although these cabinets varied widely in quality. The positive side is that these cabinets can match any color and have almost no style or fit limitations. Typically the most expensive type of cabinetry and generally takes the longest time to produce.
