Today countertops come in vast varieties of materials, types, styles and colors. While their primary purpose is utilitarian in nature, custom countertops are always an investment that when chosen correctly will provide a return in terms of real property appreciation. This is a concept that we cannot overstate and one that you cannot afford to overlook. Consumers tend to consider solid surface countertops like quartz and granite to be a luxury but they also hold very real long-term value. This is something you'll want to factor into your decisions. It's much wiser to spend a little more on that perfect countertop when you know that the extra expense will provide a return in terms of appreciated property value.
With out question the number one reason we remodel is to make our homes beautiful, comfortable and more functional but we also do it because it makes our homes more modern thus more valuable. In the end, we recoup those expenses in the appreciated value of are homes.
When it comes to property value, some remodeling decisions carry more weight than others do. This countertop material is nonporous, composed of 90 percent or more quartz particles that are bonded together by resins. It is much more stain resistant than granite, and being nonporous, there is no need to seal it like granite. It is a highly durable material and is available in a large choice of colors.

NATURAL STONE
Granite Countertops
Granite has been the material of choice in many kitchens and baths in the last decade or two. It is a natural stone that is available in many beautiful colors and will enhance any kitchen and add to its value. Being a natural stone, granite offers a very wide variety of unique patterns, grains and color variations. Granite is porous and it is recommended that it be periodically sealed to avoid staining, but with a little care it will last a lifetime.
MARBLE
The luxurious look of marble as a countertop material is hard to mistake. Like granite, it does require some maintenance as it too is porous and should be sealed to avoid staining. With proper care and maintenance it can give a special look to an island or another featured area.
ACRYLIC SOLID SURFACE COUNTERTOPS
Acrylic Solid surface countertops
come in the widest variety materials and colors. The advantage to this type of countertop over a laminate material, is that it's color is solid and scratches can be sanded out if necessary. Molded sinks and backsplashes are available seamed directly to the countertop. Stain resistant and seamless, it is available in a rainbow of colors and custom made to your specifications.
Laminate countertops
Laminate countertops are still a great choice if the budget is a big consideration. Laminate countertops are probably the most common tops used for years due to their affordable price. Made of resin coated synthetics and available in vast variety of colors, textures and edge styles, they combine beauty, durability, easy maintenance with affordability. Laminate tops are available as post-form or in custom styles which include square, bevel, or wood edge.

Custom style countertops are available in the greatest number of colors, they may be customized for almost any kitchen installation. Custom countertops may be made with a square edge, beveled edge, or wood edge. |
Tile counters
Generally the choice of the do it yourselfer, although they can look good if done correctly. Tile may be best suited for the floors, showers and Backsplashes.
